Lessons Learned from Attending Every Broker-Carrier Summit: A Veteran's Perspective
BCS Freight NetworkMarch 6, 2025
Andy Pritchard, who has attended every Broker-Carrier Summit, shares lessons learned about networking, relationships, and industry growth.
Since its inception, the Broker-Carrier Summit (BCS) has brought together freight brokers and trucking companies in a collaborative environment aimed at solving industry problems and fostering partnerships. Among those who have attended every Summit is Andy Pritchard, owner of Blue Northern Distributing LLC.
Pritchard's journey with the Summit began out of curiosity and a desire to connect with brokers and industry leaders. The Summit has grown exponentially from 35 people in a conference room to hundreds of attendees.
"The growth has been exponential. It very easily could have devolved into a gripe session with two sides taking swings at each other. But Dan, Troy, and Bain were true leaders and kept the discussions on track and productive," said Pritchard.
Networking became a key takeaway, and the value of attending extends to balancing technology with personal relationships. "Many people stress the importance of automation and computer technologies. While these are indeed extremely important, they don't mean anything without the underlying relationships between people."
